In every moment of your day you have a choice. You always have a choice. What if you decided to look at your resistance as part of the process, not just another crappy day?

Resistance is an offering from the universe, and just like anything else, you can take it and use it to learn from, or you can turn the other cheek and complain about the raw deal you’ve been dealt.

Just think back on a time when it felt so much easier to go into the drama of it all. How hurt you were. How mean ‘they’ were to you. How unfair it was. Sometimes it feels good to go there but if you step into that territory for too long it can get ugly and stay ugly. Just because it’s easy doesn’t mean it’ll make you feel good.

Here’s what I recommend you try instead. Look at your resistance with honesty. Breathe into it. Notice it. Take it on a field trip out into the great big world. Hold resistance’s hand. Get familiar with being uncomfortable and ask yourself lots of questions about why it feels uncomfortable, scary, unsafe, or confusing to look at.

“Join

1. Set a safe foundation and look at the resistance from a neutral place. Breathe and center yourself. This will help clear your mind as you look at the situation with a fresh perspective. Remind yourself that all you need is the willingness to look at the situation – no action required other than honesty.

2. Ask yourself questions that will help you to get into the honest mindset. Journalling is really helpful, otherwise put a hand on your heart and breathe deep as you ask yourself these or similar questions:

Why is this resistance coming up today?

What am I afraid will happen if things go my way?

What am I afraid I’ll need to let go of or change about myself if I step into this change?

What’s the worst case scenario vs. my best outcome?

3. Create a relationship with your intuition. I teach all of my clients to use their intuition and when they are first learning it’s common to push against the first information they hear because it might be very simple and matter of fact. The first information that comes to you is what you most need to hear. Don’t deny, distrust or brush it off because you think your intuition has ‘bigger’ things to say.

4. Understand that resistance is a necessary part of the process. Resistance is your teacher, your guide, your friend moving you toward your greatest brilliance. The tug of war you feel is coming to the surface because you have the great opportunity to step into the next phase of your learning. If you can get past these feelings, to the other side of why you need to go through it, it becomes easier to come to your own conclusions, ask for support, and take action leading with your heart.

Want To Build An Empire? Better Make Time For Your Girls.

Want To Build An Empire? Better Make Time For Your Girls.

So, you want to make a difference in the world?  Help raise the vibration of the planet?  Well, Gorgeous, one of the most important things you should be doing is cultivating some QT (quality time) with your besties.  And, let's get real, this is also probably the one thing you are neglecting because you are out there trying to change the world.  I mean, your friends will always be there and you've got some serious world dominating to do, right?  Mmmmmm, yes and no.

Yes, your friends will always be there.  But, only if you continue nourishing your friendships.  Just because things were easy peasy when acid wash jeans were all the rage (the 1st time), doesn't mean that your relationships will continue to grow if you neglect them.

The bonds that you maintain on your rise to building your empire will not only help keep you sane, they are necessary ingredients in ANY recipe for success.

I don't know about you, but my close Soul Sisters can often be my muses when I am descended upon by hideous, creativity-sucking, time-stealing banshees (AKA the always-dreaded writer's block).  Even when I think I couldn't possibly make time to talk with my girls (IE: when I'm up to my eyeballs in deadlines for work or behind on my writing), I'm always wrong.  When I think I don't have time, it's generally because I've started procrastinating or I'm feeling stuck in my path.  This then leads to feelings of not having time for anything “fun”.  As in, if it's not helping me to build my business RIGHT NOW, then I just can't do it.  Ever feel like that?  As if the moment you take your eyes off of changing the world (even for one tiny little nanosecond) that everything will fall apart and you'll be back at step one?

“Join

Well, good news fellow Paradigm Shifters.  By nourishing the bonds of friendship, you are taking care of YOU.

And you can't run the world if you're neglecting the amazing Shero that is you.  So, allow time with your girlfriends to be a part of your weekly routine.  When you skip this QT you're not only hurting yourself, you're also doing an injustice to all of the people you are meant to help.  By making time for your friends, you're making time for yourself.  You are fully showing up for yourself which, in turn, allows you to fully show up in the world.

And, come on.  What fun is world domination if you don't have your BFFs along for the ride?

Your Time Management Problem May Not Be About Managing Time

YOUR TIME MANAGEMENT PROBLEM MAY
NOT BE ABOUT MANAGING TIME

Your Time Management Problem

Your Time Management Problem

Article by Ling Wong

Magazine: Issue #19

Maybe you have tried all the “time management” tools and methods under the sun, and still feel that you need a 28-hour day.

The problem is, you may not be attacking your problem with the right tool! Your “time” problem may not be a “time” problem, so using “time management” tools and methods is not going to get to the bottom of the issue.

So let’s get to the bottom of it and solve your TIME problem:

Root Cause #1: You Lack Clarity

Without a clear vision/objective/goal, you don’t know what you need to do to achieve what you want so you try to do everything everyone tells you because they “sound good”. Without a Conviction, everything sounds like the right thing to do – yeah, they may be “right” but are they right for YOU? What is YOUR priority?

The Cure: Get clear on what you want your business to do FOR YOU. Design your business based on your passion, conviction, superpowers and vision. Map out your fastest path to cash that is in alignment with your Truth. Then you will know what you need to do next. Then make that ONE thing the non-negotiable item in your day.

Root Cause #2: You Lack Boundary

Of course, we need healthy boundary with other people so you don’t say “yes” to taking on other people’s shit; say “yes” to opportunities that are not aligned with your value and big vision; say “yes” to arrangements that infringe on your money boundary (time = money).

But more importantly, we often overlook the boundary we need to establish with ourselves. It can be much harder because it is much harder to realize that we are infringing our own boundary.

If you set “rules” and then break them, you are infringing on your own boundary. If you let your monkey mind take over and derail you with negative thoughts, fears and distractions, you are infringing on your own boundary. If you let yourself do things that don’t serve your big vision, you are infringing on your own boundary.

The Cure: let’s help you figure out what to say “no” to – both to others and to yourself. Imagine you have only 16 hours in your day, and you still have to sleep 8 hours (no cheating!) How would your day look like? What can you realistically accomplish (i.e. the important stuff that will make you feel that the day is well spent) and what can be dropped without a hint of guilt (because it would be humanly impossible to do 24 hours worth of tasks in 16 hours)?

Root Cause #3: You Are Letting Fears Take Over

Not managing our time well often means we don’t get to the important stuff. If we know the stuff is important, why can’t we get to it?

Because, very often, those are the important stuff that will move the needle and rock the boat… but our caveman brain doesn’t like that. Change is scary… even though that’s what you want.

“Community”/

These important things also often require us to put ourselves and our stuff out there. That can trigger the Fear of Inadequacy (what if I/my stuff is not good enough?) and the Fear of Being Vulnerable (what if I get criticized?) To avoid these fears, we procrastinate – aka spend time doing things that don’t matter – so we can delay putting ourselves/our stuff out there.

The Fear of Missing Out can also get the best of us – what if I miss a very important Facebook post? If I don’t read all the tweets I am going to miss something…

The Cure: when you find yourself procrastinating or doing “time suck” stuff, see if it’s a reaction to an underlying fear – e.g. instead of reaching out to potential clients you dawdle on Facebook because you are afraid of rejection.

Cultivate the awareness and acknowledge the fear, then try this 5-minute 6-step process to release it.

Fear is a Choice: Recognize and Release It

FEAR IS A CHOICE: RECOGNIZE AND RELEASE IT

Fear Is A Choice

Fear Is A Choice

We all feel fear in some form or fashion. Maybe it is in aspiring career decision, taking charge of your health, moving out on your own way, or asking out the person that has caught your eye. However, I heard this quoted to me today:

“Fear is not real. It is a product of thoughts you create. Do not misunderstand me. Danger is very real. But fear is a choice.” -Will Smith

I guess I had just never thought of it like that. Fear is a choice. Yes we may feel it from time to time, but that does not mean that we have to let it paralyze us. It is a fleeting feeling that we can choose to let stay or to tell it to keep moving. Are you tired of not acting on what you are called to do in life because of the infamous 'what if' question? When you decide to release fear you have the choice of freedom.

You'll be amazed at the things you can achieve when you aren't afraid to act.

Ever heard the question:

What great thing would you attempt, if you knew you could not fail?

“5The

If you never have, or it has just been a while take a few minutes to think about it. My whole point behind this article is for you to recognize where fear presents itself in your life currently. Through doing this you will now have the choice to release it and choose freedom instead. Take a deep breath, release your fears, and now go out and conquer the world!

For it is with you that the world has a chance to be truly magnificent.

I will leave you with one of my favorite affirmations.

Affirmation: ”I cheated on my fears, broke up with my doubts, got engaged to my faith and now… I'm marrying, my Dreams.” -The Raw Food Sisters

5 Ways to Stay Focused and Inspired

5 WAYS TO STAY FOCUSED AND INSPIRED

Article by Elizabeth Kelsey Bradley

Magazine: Issue #19

The key to shining bright when running a creative, holistic business whether you’re creating content, working with a client, or planning a launch is to stay in your element. The best way to do this is to cultivate focus and stay inspired while working.

Here are my top five tips to keep you in your element:

1| Boost Your Energy, Naturally

Superfoods, green smoothies, and adaptogenic herbs can help you keep your energy up and even increase creativity. Yerba Mate is a well known tea consumed in South America that also keeps me energized.

2| Motivational Prompts

Is there a particular time of day you lose your oomph? Is there a particular task you dislike doing ( SEO anyone)? Have prompts such as motivational quotes or a yoga pose in your arsenal of motivator and energizers to help you keep going.

3| Accountability Partners

When we have a coach, mentor, or friend as an accountability partner, we tend to perform better can stay motivated. Join Facebook or Google Plus groups in your niche or recruit a friend to help you stay focused.

4| Mood Boards

You’ve probably heard of Vision Boards, but have you tried doing a mood board? Pick a theme you want to focus on, or Core Desired Feeling, and create a board of images and quotes around that topic. For example, if you’re working with a client that is trying to boost their sales and you’re helping them with marketing, make a Mood Board for that particular project based off of what you’d like to see happen for them, or how you see yourself make an impact in their work. Think particularly about how you want to feel from completing the project.

5| Awesome Tunes

Never underestimate the power of a good playlist! Instead of listening to the radio or whatever comes on on a particular channel, take one day every so often to make a playlist for different moods or scenarios in your day to day business. If you get groggy when blogging, make an energizing playlist filled with not only new songs but also ones from your teen years that always got you pumped. The key here is to make the playlist not a generic one but that triggers an emotional response that will help you feel good while working.

All of us have moments of feeling like we’d rather take the day off or avoid a task completely, but if you focus on boosting your energy and staying in the right frame of mind, you’ll find it easier to work through the things your business needs completed.

Reiki as an Entrepreneurial Tool

REIKI AS AN ENTREPRENEURIAL TOOL

Article by John Scardina

Magazine: Issue #19

Reiki (Universal Life force Energy), a Japanese hands on healing technique that is used for all types of healing, physical and mental. Scientifically proven and accepted as practice used for patients going through Chemotherapy at many hospitals, due to the meditative and healing properties. But Reiki is so much more. There are three levels of Reiki, Levels 1 & 2, and Master.

All of these bringing different abilities to the practitioner. Once a practitioner has reached or been attuned to level 2, the practitioner is attuned to distance symbols, allowing this healing technique to be utilized forward and backward in time. This allows the healing energy to be sent and received in the future and past. A bit of a strange concept to grasp, but can be very effective for any entrepreneur.

As business owners we utilize every tool we have available to become a success. By becoming taught and attuned to level 2 Reiki the entrepreneur can send Reiki, positive energy, and positive intent into the future in the following ways:

Sending Reiki to that business meeting prior to your arrival.

Sending Reiki to a client prior to your session.

Sending Reiki to business document prior to signing.

“5The

These are just some ideas of how an entrepreneur can have positive and healing energy in place, ready to pick up and utilize upon their arrival to any business situation. This may seem a lot to comprehend if not familiar with Reiki, but in its simplicity you could potentially compare it to prayer, if you so choose. But Reiki is not a religion, it is a practice based on energy and everything around us and including ourselves is energy. With the practice of Reiki, you have limitless options that you may utilize to provide positive results in business. If you have a past business ( a learning moment, we have all had at least one) event that did not go well, you can also send this energy back to this event in history to help diminish the thoughts of this mistake and turn into a positive thought.

Reiki as explained while being taught, “Can never do harm”. Reiki could be an amazing business tool for any entrepreneur.
