CLEOPATRA MOON BATH RITUAL
Article by Courtney Faye Maguire
After a long day, you deserve to feel relaxed, refreshed and like the Queen of the Nile herself!
The inspiration for the Cleopatra Moon Milk Bath came from my interest in the Ancient Egyptians and the way the Pharaohs and their Queens used the ingredients they had readily available to them to create a luxurious atmosphere! Fragrances were used from plants that thrived in the desert, and milk was used for helping keep skin soft.
Most people don’t realize that essential oils have actually been around, dating clear back to Ancient Egypt! They added them to their bath water and also rubbed on their skin as a “perfume”. Rose petals would be added for scent but also to create a “romantic, intimate” setting. I love how all of these ingredients are natural and given to us by Mother Earth, as well as when mixed together in a hot bath can help women feel like the Goddess they are!
Ritual Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups powdered milk
1/2 cup baking soda
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup epsom salts
10-20 drops of essential oil of your choice (optional)
flower petals of your choice (optional)
When sitting in your luxurious bath, allow all of the scents of the milk, epsom salts and essential oils to fill your nose. Take some deep breaths, and imagine yourself as royalty (because let’s be honest honey, you are!). I especially love taking the silky rose petals in my hands and gently rubbing them in between my fingers. It’s so empowering to allow the feminine energy to help us unwind and feel our absolute best. This bath ritual can be used at any time and especially during the New and Full Moon! Sitting in the bath is a great time to focus on intentions, release old beliefs, and focus on our expansion while giving thanks for all of our abundance and blessings!
