How did you first get into Instagram blogging and gain such a large following?
I was uploading for fun in my spare time. I’ve always enjoyed putting together outfits and styling different looks. People started responding well to my photos it just sort of gained a steady traction.

What inspires your photos?
Heaps of different things! A certain piece of clothing I fall in love with.. Or a mood/vibe I want to emulate.. Or it may be a particular location I find that I want to shoot in!

Who generally takes pictures of you?
Usually friends or my partner.. Behind every blogger is the “insta boyfriend” haha

What typically goes in to the production of all your photos?
I piece together the outfit, do my hair and makeup. Grab coffee and find the location. Then just play around until we have the shot we want! But some photos are completely unplanned and usually they end up being the best shots!

What are some of your favorite clothing brands that you get to promote through your insta/blog?
I have so many faves! I’m loving Rebel & Stone at the moment, they have amazing stuff! And for sure Lee Denim and Tony Bianco!

Describe your typical morning of getting ready?
I’m such an early bird, I like time to relax in the morning before I begin my day. I shower, do my makeup and hair then get dressed. I usually plan my outfit the night before so I don't have to stress about finding something to wear.

When you’re not taking rad pictures, what do you like to do in your free time?
Spend time with my family and friends. I love cooking so on Sunday mornings I like going to the Markets to get fresh food.

Who’s your favorite style icon?
Alexa Chung for sure! I also love Gigi Hadids look!

What’s your favorite filter?
I use the Aden filter on all my photos. It adds a nice pastel wash and gives my Instagram a consistent feel.

What’s something you wish you’d have known when you first started Instagramming?
That its more than just your mates uploading club photos - that its actually filled with fashion, style and beauty from all corners of the world that we get explore, see and add to!

What’s a piece of advice you’d like to give on style and taking Instagram worthy photos?
Choose a key item that you love and piece your outfit together from there. Don't be afraid to try something a little different from time to time. For your photos - find good lighting, interesting backgrounds and capture a nice warm feel or mood.

Being Overly Flexible is for Yoga, Not for Business

Being Overly Flexible is for Yoga, Not for Business

BEING OVERLY FLEXIBLE IS FOR YOGA, NOT FOR BUSINESS

Being flexible in business is such a great attribute, we need flexibility in order adapt and solve problems for our business. We as entrepreneurs do everything we can to become and maintain a successful business, sometimes even bending over backwards to please a customer or client. At so many levels this is acceptable in order to survive. Other times this can be a trying event.

As a Reiki Master/Teacher I have always managed my practice to cater to all and any client willing to come my way. It was in these efforts I realized that I was practicing what I like call “Business Yoga”. I found myself bending and contorting to every need in order to reach and teach students. I would do everything I could possible do in order to secure a client up to and including changing class dates, fee structures, and letting clients dictate what was once a business plan of my own making. I was allowing all clients to run their plan, not mine.

Again I will say that being flexible is a fine quality, but to what extent do go to? We all have those clients that will dictate their availability even after scheduling, and those in addition who are consistently late for appointments. Even those who just need an extra everything to please them. These are the types of clients that greatly reduce your ability to run your business as efficiently as it should run.  In place of running your business you are actually performing a yoga routine. Being in tune with and preventing these events can make your business run with greater reward and general well being.

Knowing when to say no is the key to stop being overly flexible. We all are solving a problem and providing a service, it’s of the upmost importance that we remain clear with all clients of what our expectations are. Our time and sanity it just as important as the services we provide. We can provide a great service to all clients without giving into “Business Yoga”, let’s save that for our down and meditative time in a studio rebalancing and relaxing. Your real clients will get it.

1| Project your expectations to every client, potential and current.
2| Know when to say no
3| Do not accept schedule changes repeatedly
4| Take charge of what is your schedule
5| Know when to let go of clients that consume excess time
6| Do not be overly flexible!

3 Steps to Building a Business Online... Create, Collaborate & Thrive

3 STEPS TO BUILDING A BUSINESS ONLINE...
CREATE, COLLABORATE AND THRIVE!

I know what you’re thinking right now. I don’t prefer to collaborate on projects in business simply because it never works out or, I just prefer to work alone. News flash! Was Apple managed by Steve jobs only? Was he the only employee at Apple? It takes a team to build an empire and that traditional way of thinking will create a road block in the middle of your plans real fast. If you have horror stories with collaborating, it’s only because you chose the wrong person or people to collaborate with. Have you ever selected a restaurant to try out and walk away disappointed? Did you try another restaurant or did you call it a quits and decided never to visit any other restaurants ever in life?

We are students first in this world of learning and exploring. We are constantly learning about what we stand for in our businesses and in life period. I promote and encourage ladies to collaborate. It’s a beautiful opportunity to create magic. Here’s a perfect example: If I am great at graphic design and you are great at sales and we both are in the same industry, why not work together? No one wants to admit it but I believe a few egos are getting in the way of creating this magic? What are your thoughts?

BE BRAVE – BE BOLD – BE COURAGOUS

Let’s just name a few benefits of collaborating shall we?

Personal and Business Development – Not only will you grow as a person but you will learn additional tools and techniques for your business. Two heads are always better than one

Sales and Marketing - Not only are you cheering for a common goal, theme and project, but both of you are working together as a team. Less stress right?

Relationships – Not only are you building your communication skills in business but you are building a strong foundation for future business partnerships

Ideas and Creation – I’m not sure about you but as a creative spirit, my brain is all over the place so it’s great to have someone who speaks the same language (creativity) Do you know how much you can create with two or more people?

CREATIVITY IS YOUR SUPER POWER

Don’t allow past experiences to get in the way of your success. Build your business and new chapter of your life one step at a time. Create, Collaborate and celebrate your business in true bliss. I’ll be here to cheer you on. Woo Hoo! You Rock!

Is Your Business in a Rut? 3 Steps to Overcome the Overwhelm

Is Your Business in a Rut? 3 Steps to Overcome the Overwhelm

Clearing the emotional blocks that are standing in the way to you making money living your purpose... three ways to heal resistance right now!

It is so interesting how resistance shows up for us as new healers and health coaches. Do you often find yourself feeling stuck, tired, overwhelmed and full of reasons why your new online business will not work? Are you getting clearer about your desires, you finally feel like you know what your life purpose could be…

Just as you’re about to have a huge quantum leap and then all of the sudden you are falling in to old unhealthy habits and loosing sight of your vision. Why?

  • You can’t get up in the morning it’s so hard.
  • Falling in to a downward spiral…
  • You’re not smart or qualified enough to help.
  • Stuck because you don’t have any money.
  • Who are you to be a coach or a healer?
  • Why does it feel so hard to live your purpose and desires?

Why does resistance seam to show up just as you are about to have a breakthrough?

You wake up, on the day you are going to get so much done, with a heavy dark cloud of self-doubt, an illness or an emergency that suddenly consumes your whole day. It can feel like the world, your body, your family, your day job are all conspiring against you. Why are you in a constant state of second-guessing yourself?

Today I am going to show you how in three simple steps you can heal this relationship that you are having with resistance.

1| You have total control of your resistance ~ even though it can feel like the opposite sometimes. Your life is not happening to you, you are creating it! You might be thinking why would I be creating resistance to something that I want to do?

You are not consciously creating it: resistance is rooted in our subconscious, the part of you who wants to keep you safe. When things are new and different your subconscious tries to protect you by keeping things the same. Thus you fall back into old patterns that feel comfortable. The more aware of this truth that you are the more you can shift out of it.  So start observing your “resistance” as it comes up with out self-judgment. Become aware of how your subconscious mind is trying to keep things the same and keep you safe.

2| Fear is the root of your resistance ~ how to transition into love. Even though it is not obvious why we are feeling stuck, coming up with excuses or getting sick every time we make movement in our business or toward living our purpose, there is only one reason that resistance shows up. Fear! You might be feeling like why would I be afraid of living my life purpose or helping other people live healthier lives? It is all rooted in the subconscious and our child hood programming.

So you have two options, you could spend years in therapy and hypnosis to try to heal your past or you can learn how to choose love over fear.  Are you ready to choose love?

This is so fun and so simple! Next time resistance shows up in the form of overwhelm, lack of clarity, excuses, illness, lack of motivation or depression: instead of choosing the usual path of negative self talk and self-judgment ~ choose self-love! In you’re lowest of low, in the midst of your downward spiral choose to encourage yourself, to compliment and build yourself up!

3| Surrender and ask for help ~ you do not have to do it alone. When you can shift out of self hate and judgment for not showing up, not finishing the task, not completing your to do list, you are in a more open receptive state of mind. With this self-love practice you have softened into a space of receiving… this is what you actually want anyway. You want to receive more money, more freedom, more community and more clients.

You may be feeling vulnerable; you were just knocked down by resistance. However you have been able to maintain self-love and now you have an opportunity. This is the important part. Ask for help to stay on track next time! Reach out to a friend and ask for accountability, reach out in your community for resources, hire a coach, join a group mastermind, go to therapy or counseling.

There are so many free resources out there, do not let yourself fall into resistance and fear around asking for help, stay in a place of self love and reach out! You cannot do this all alone!

A Quick Recap ~ How to Heal Resistance!

1. Observe your resistance without judgment, start to notice patterns and cycles.
2. In the midst of falling off course or feeling stuck allow yourself to find compassion and love for yourself.
3. Open up to an energy of receiving and ask for help in your community.

Beauty this is your time to shine and I do not want you to be on this hamster wheel forever. Start interacting and reaching out now!

Share what you have observed about your own resistance in the comments below.
