THE 3 ESSENTIAL COMPONENTS OF INSPIRATION

In her 2009 TED Talk's, Elisabeth Gilbert describes how inspiration is often something outside of ourselves that we somehow need to invite in.

We often get our best ideas in the shower, while driving a car, or even washing dishes, which is very frustrating since we don’t have anything to record or write with.

So, let’s use the example of the shower and investigate what the conditions are that allows inspiration to strike so often!

1 :: We are not thinking
Most of us know how to take a shower, drive a car, and do the dishes without thinking about it. NO THINKING allows inspiration to come faster than if we are. Why? It’s simple- A thought is the repetition of something we know or have experienced. Inspiration is something that does not exist yet, so it just cannot be in the same environment as a repetition of something that already exists.

Meditation or Access The Bars® are a great way to have a blank mind. Find your way to clear your thoughts.

2 :: We are relaxed
The hot water, the repetitive movements, the condition of the shower itself is relaxing. When the body does not make strenuous movements (but still moves), inspiration is much more likely to strike. We are now in full mode of “receiving”, like a blank slate. The body is open to the information. Ruth Stone, the famous American poet often described how she felt poems “passing” through her body.

Taking a walk in nature, stretching, receiving a massage, or eating the foods that nurture our bodies are perfect ways to relax as well.

3 :: We are not judging ourselves or others
Usually we do not judge ourselves for the way we take a shower. We also do not judge the shower. In this space of non-judgement, where nothing is wrong, bad, big or small, inspiration can come. It will find a fertile ground where a seed can be planted without the risk to be modified or pushed away.

Judging ourselves not only creates stress, but it also prevents our creativity to blossom. Therefore, even if you are your “worst critic”, adopting a technique to stop self-judgement as soon as it is noticed is critical in developing new ideas.

If you apply these three components and recreate them at any time, you will eventually be able to get inspired any time you choose to be.

3 EMPOWERMENT TOOLS FOR BETTER BUSINESS PRACTICES

There was never a better time than now to guide people out of the murkiness of the news, depressive moods of the economy and judgements of their bodies.

Today, more than ever, the world needs the bright lights that we are. Here are 3 simple ways to being the brilliant star you are meant to be in your business:

1 :: Listen to your body
Your body knows everything about you, what you are capable of creating and even what other people need from you. So when looking to be the brightest star you could ever be in your business, ask your body questions like:

“Body, who can I call today that I can contribute the most to?”
“Body, what can I do different today to create more in my business right away?”
“Body, what do you want me to know about me that I am not acknowledging?”

Any dis-ease, illness or potential problem with your body is a sign that your body has been talking and you have not listened. Ask more questions. The first thing that pops is what your body wants you to know.

2 :: Do that thing you think is wrong
Being the brightest star you are meant to be does not mean you can ever reproduce what someone else has created. Your light is different, it’s unique and that’s why it is required in the world. But often, being you, being different feels like the “wrong” thing you do. I mean, if it was the right thing, wouldn’t everyone do it? WRONG!!! No one can do what you do the way you do it so doing what feels like you, even if it feels wrong because it’s so different than what everyone else is doing.

I am French and I like to make people laugh so I often include jokes and funny faces or funny ways of saying things (with my Frenglish) in my business videos. It’s not necessarily the “right” thing to say but when clients choose to work with me they are aware there will be laughter, I don’t take their stories of limitations seriously and my accent is strange. It makes them want to know me even more.

So what if what you think is wrong about you is actually what is right about you?

3 :: Know that you know
I often see people hesitating when they are talking about themselves or their business. I do not mean hesitating in finding their words, no, because they have rehearsed enough, I mean hesitating in choosing what to do, what to say, what to wear, who to talk to, what to put on social media, etc....

The truth is, you know everything there is to know. How many times did someone asked you a question and you knew the answer even though you never “studied it”. Everything that pertains to your business and the services you provide, you know about it. Therefore, everything that pertains to the people who require and are ready to receive your business and your services, you know about it. If you stopped second guessing yourself, you will see how true this is.

Doubt is the most paralyzing thought. I don't even try to get away from it anymore. Instead, I ask: "What do I know about this that I am pretending I don’t know?" I can always go back to doubt 10 seconds later

The world needs the light of the star you bring. Don’t rob us from it. Use these three tools and let us all see it shine!

3 WAYS TO HELP YOUR CHILDREN DEAL WITH DIVORCE

Emotions fly high when two people who swore to love each other their whole lives choose to end their relationship and divorce. Parents who are dealing with their own emotions find it often difficult to help their children go through this emotional time as well. The three strategies below will not only help your children go through the separation of their two favorite people with more ease, it will also help you feel more adequate as a parent during these challenging times.

1| Allow them and you to feel everything.
Children are very aware of their parents emotions. Even if the parent is putting on a smile but they are distraught inside, the children know. If you do not acknowledge your emotions in front of your children, they will be confused and start thinking they have to hide their own feelings.

While it is important that you let them know what you are feeling, it is also important that you let them know they don’t have to take care of it.

I was often more exhausted than usual when I picked up my kids from school while going through separation and I would say to them: “OK, mom is very tired and very sad tonight, but I still want to know how your day went. Just know if I cry, it’s not about you, ok?” And they got it. I did not make my emotions something bad and ugly I had to hide, I acknowledged them and let them be. So when my daughter one day said to me she was angry at me for not loving her dad anymore I answered “I get that. What else are you angry about?” She felt acknowledged and moved on a lot faster than if I told her not to be angry with me.

2| Look at the other parent through your child’s eyes.
Divorce is often a choice made after two people decide there is a problem between them. It’s normal to feel that the other person is “the enemy” or just wrong. But your child is not seeing them that way. For them, it’s their parent too.

It is very important that you look at the other parent, the person you are divorcing, through the eyes of your child. Step back for a moment and see that in your child’s eye, that person is not wrong, that person has not stopped loving them and that person is doing the best they can. When you are with your children, do not speak ill of their other parent. It will allow them to know they are not wrong for loving both of you. As mentioned above, let them know if you are upset but don’t blame anyone for your upset. You have the power to change that upset even if in this moment it’s hard to see.

3| Focus on the good times.
Going through Divorce does not mean you only have to be angry, sad, upset, confused, frustrated all the time, although it’s ok to feel these emotions. Find a way to enjoy this time too. A divorce means you get to create something new. A new home maybe, new friendships, new activities, new possibilities. What have you always wanted to do with your children that you did not do before because it was either the other parent’s activity or they would not want to do it? My ex husband is very creative so I often let him handle arts and crafts or “make a play” activities. But I am very creative too and now I get a lot of joy finger painting with my kids or putting on dance shows. I get to be the whole mother I know myself to be.

When you are having fun, your children will know everything is ok. They will know that even if they now have to see their parents separately, their life will still be filled with love and joy. And as a kid, that’s all they truly want.

CONSCIOUSNESS: BUILDING A BRAND WITH PERMISSION TO FAIL!

I used to get out of bed and look at my to do list. I would get dressed, get the kids ready for school and with a hot cup of coffee set out to do the best I could with what I got.

I would deal with the problems, find the solutions, and feel somewhat accomplished to have solved things. I would take small steps toward growing a business I loved, knowing it was normal that it took so long since every one else was going through that growth process.

But inside me was that gnawing feeling that something else was possible.

Consciousness includes everything and rejects nothing, says Gary Douglas, Founder of Access Consciousness®. This means that being successful has as much value as failing. It means not feeling like doing something may create as much as doing 10 things on my list. It means NOTHING is bad nothing is good. Everything is allowed.

When I first understood the true meaning of Consciousness I felt very uncomfortable. I had no more points of reference. But it also meant total freedom. I could make any video, write any blog post, create any product and if no one ever saw any of it, or bought any of it, I could no longer judge myself.

Wow! it gave me so much more room to create. The joy of my business was in the creation process, not in the result. I did not look at the analytics, at the receipts or any kind of result.

I was having fun, creating more than I ever knew and most of all I had so much more energy than before! I had never realized how much energy it took to do things right. Now, I was sleeping less time, ate less and felt much more energized.

I am sure you know what follows. The money is in the bank and the people love how “crazy” I am.

Consciousness is the most expansive space to do business in. It allows me to be everything I always wanted to be, and everything I did not know I wanted to be.

How does it get any better than that?
