3 Ways in Which Your Impatience is Blocking Your Success and How to Fix It

In a world that is moving as fast as the one we are living in right now, with all the technological advances and social media, it’s not rare at all that we are used to the culture of instant gratification.

We want everything to unfold rapidly and get results right here, right now.

Even though in some cases, impatience can be really helpful for us, helping us to staying motivated, keeping us on track, constantly taking action and with a really high drive, it can also get in the way and cause us to massively sabotage ourselves blocking success from coming into our lives.

The good news is that you can stop that pattern and change things for the better and I’m going to explain you how to do it.

1 :: Impatience creates high levels of frustration and resistance:

When we set our expectations high and focus on getting results rapidly and that doesn’t happen the way we want it to, then frustration and resistance starts getting to us, because things aren’t going our way. This is a very common reaction but a very damaging one. Frustration and resistance are big energy blockers.

It happens because our minds are too focused on the final goal and not really paying attention to the important steps we need to take first in order to get there.

Thankfully it’s really easy to fix this, we just need to give our mind another goal to focus on.

As a solution to this, create a very clear, easy to follow step by step roadmap that will lead you to your main goal and focus your attention on just completing the next step. This will keep you motivated and will satisfy the competitive side of you, it also will keep you on a state of flow, allowing high levels of creativity and productivity, plus, every step you complete, means you are one step closer to your big goal.

2 :: Impatience often leads to Overwhelm:

When we are too focused on getting from point A to point Z in one step, we tend to be all over the place, taking all kinds of messy action, not really getting anywhere and we end up tired and overwhelmed, which often enough leads us to just quitting.

We lack the clarity and knowledge to move forward and that leaves us thinking that we have already tried everything with no results at all, and feeling like that, definitely will not bring us any closer to the success we want.

Even though at this stage it may seem like we’ve reached a point of no return, there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel.

An easy way to fix and redirect the overwhelm is reverse engineering our main goal.

In order to do this, first we need to have a very clear and specific end result (goal) that we want to achieve successfully. Then ask ourselves what are the 3 main skills or knowledge that we need to master in order to get to our end result easily.

Finally we take each one of those skills or knowledge that we need to master and we divide them on smaller topics.

This will help you gain confidence on your skills, and will fast track your way to your goal because you’re working deeply on what its takes for you to successfully achieve your goal.

And reward yourself after completing every single step, this will help you integrate the vibration of success.

3 :: Impatience is closely related to the limiting belief of “not being able to achieve what I want”:

The fact that we want to achieve something quickly often underlines our need of confirmation that we can actually achieve that result.

Because if we can’t see what we want unfolding, how can we even be sure that it’s going to happen for us?.

If it’s not happening fast enough, it might mean that is never going to.

At a subconscious level we need the certainty, confirmation and safety that our desires are guaranteed, so we tend to rush things, that way we can be safe knowing that we can be truly successful at that we want.

In order to work through this we need to dive deep into our subconscious mind and ask ourselves two very important questions.

What is the worst thing that can happen if I don’t get results fast?

What kind of confirmation do I need in order to truly believe that I can achieve that I want?

Really take the time to write down the answers that will come up for you, you could be very surprised by what your subconscious mind has to say to you.

And on a last note, give yourself more credit, celebrate all wins no matter how small they might be, this will not only make you feel better, but it will also re-educate your mind to find success in everything that you do.
