If you don't know, you could start by sending out a survey, but an even quicker way would be to post the question in a Facebook post or in a Facebook group. It's a lot easier for people to write their answer on social media than to open their already over-crowded emails, click on a "take a quick survey" button and hope they complete it.

How could you re-package your offerings to increase the sale?

You know when you buy a gift basket it's always more affordable than buying each product individually.  How to Advertise Your Holistic Business

How to Advertise Your Holistic Business

If you're ready to advertise, you're ready for success! When building a holistic business one of the best marketing strategies is to use online advertising to attract new customers. However, to assure your money brings you a return on investment (ROI), you're going to need a strategy.

Before you even begin designing your advertisements, take into consideration a few pre-advertising to-do's, which will help to assure your advertising dollars work towards the primary goal: the increase sales.

Create an Introductory Product or Free Goodie

First step is to make sure you have a low-cost product or free product ready. Remember, new potential customers may not know you yet, therefore, they might not trust you yet. So having a low-cost introductory program or an SEO-friendly Free Goodie is paramount. When I say low-cost I mean under $100.

Create a Landing Page that Converts

Once you have created your low-cost or free goodie product, you'll need a well-written landing page to showcase all the benefits of that product. If you don't know what should be on a landing page, not to worry, we have a course on how to create a landing page that converts designed specifically for this.

Create an Advertising Plan

After the landing page is completed, you are almost ready to start an advertising campaign. The next thing you need is an advertising plan, which includes where you will advertise (all over the web with display ads, Facebook, etc...) a set budget, and a strategy. This strategy includes know where you want your ads to show up, what major websites share your ideal customers, your keywords, a conversion or tracking pixel, and more. If you're not how to set-up your advertising campaign click here.

Design Your Advertisements

Next you'll need professionally designed and branded advertisements. If you know how to design your own ads, good for you. If not, you'll need to have someone design them for you. (This is a service we offer to Club Members).

Once you've completed the four steps, you are officially ready to advertise your holistic business and start attract new customers while you sleep! Isn't the internet a beautiful place to grow your holistic business? I'll say it is!

How to Find a Niche when Starting a Holistic Brand

How to Find a Niche When Starting a Holistic Brand

How to Find a Niche When Starting a Holistic Brand

HOW TO FIND A NICHE WHEN STARTING A HOLISTIC BRAND

Article: Angel Quintana
Photo: Dasha & Mari

One of the biggest hurdles when starting a holistic brand is to unlock the mystery behind finding a niche. However, one of the biggest misconceptions is that you have to FIND a niche when in actuality you need to create one.

Creating a niche means you'll need to have your signature system in place so you are crystal clear as to the problem you solve, who you solve it for, your marketing plan, and so forth.

Having a holistic brand means you desire to be recognizable in the market place. This include a strong brand identity, voice, signature product and programs, and the secret sauce: to add a luxury appeal to your brand. It's easy to get lost in the mix with all the artificial products on the market that merely supply a quick fix or worse... aggravate the problem even more.

As a holistic brand you must take considerable measures to reinvent the wheel, create a strong personal brand, and speak to your audience as if you are speaking directly to them. Here are a few suggestions when trying to find a niche:

Suggestion #1:
Niche Your Product Down

As Veruca Salt said candidly in Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, "I want it now!" If you're looking for a niche, the fastest and easiest way to find what you're looking for right now is to create one. This means you'll need to break down what makes your product or service different and then decide what type of person needs it.

Being clear on what you sell is the most important part of your business, for if you sell something that no one wants or the market is monopolized with big businesses who can wipe you out of the market with a hefty marketing budget your efforts will be all for nothing. However, when you stop looking for the golden ticket and instead create a niche, your odds become much better.

Create a niche that serves a niche market. For example, you might sell a fitness program that is the bees knees, but let's be honest, there are a zillion of those! So instead, what about gearing the fitness program to brides-to-be who want to have the best looking triceps for that strapless wedding gown! While the program will still provide an overall fitness program, the niche is pairing down the product to solve a specific need.

Suggestion #2:
Identify Your Niche Market

Creating a niche and identifying your niche market are two separate component. A niche has to do with your products and your niche market is the ideal customers who would be interested in purchasing your product. If after you've discovered what makes your product different and you're still left scratching your head as to who your niche market is try taking a deeper look into who YOU are.

It's a good chance that the reason you got into this holistic business was to help yourself initially. Most holistic businesses got into helping others with a problem they finally figured out how to solve for themselves. In this case, your ideal customer is actually YOU a couple years ago, or what I refer to as your Kismet Client™. Your niche market is merely a circle of kismet clients who are probably hanging out together trying get their problem solved. Identify the characteristics of this person and you're sure to uncover who you niche market is.

If you are able to do these two things, you will be well on your way to finding success in your holistic business.

Bonus Tip:
Use the Luxury Business Model

Using a luxury business model to enhance your holistic brand will set you apart from the majority of the competition because most businesses are trying to sell to the masses. When you niche your product and market down, what you are actually doing is embracing the Luxury Business Model! When you do this, you can charge more for you products and programs-- when you do this you position your holistic brand as superior.

A luxury business model is all about customer service, providing premium products, and never compromising quality ever. If you use this bonus tip when creating your niche products, you're be ready to break six figures and beyond in no time.

How to Attract New Customers to Your Holistic Brand

Attract New Customers to Your Holistic Brand

Attract New Customers to Your Holistic Brand

HOW TO ATTRACT NEW CUSTOMERS TO YOUR HOLISTIC BRAND

Article: Angel Quintana
Photo: Rose Jane

We are both entrepreneurs and let's face it, we're in business to make money. Without customers and clients, there is no money to be made and without any money there is really no business. Whether you think the market is saturated or you just aren't getting enough traffic to your website, you must always be looking to attract new customers to keep your pipeline full. This goes for seasoned entrepreneurs and new holistic businesses who are just getting started.

Attracting new customers starts with knowing who you ideal customer is, or what we like to refer to as your Kismet Clientele™. If you know who they are, then you just might be able to figure out where they are hanging out--online.

Attract New Customers with Facebook:

With 1.34 billion people on Facebook, it's probably safe to say your ideal customer is hanging out there. They might have joined some Facebook groups or perhaps they are ranting in the newsfeed, whatever they are doing, they are looking to be distracted and entertained. I think it's safe to say, marketing your holistic business on Facebook is a good idea.

Using the newsfeed as a tool to drive traffic back to your site is a great way to get new customers to discover who you are and what you do. However, if all you have is a couple hundred friends and few thousand fans on your Facebook fan page, it might be difficult to bring in new customers without advertising.

Facebook advertising is becoming more and more popular to driving new customers to your landing page and/or website, but why not take it a step further. You might already be sharing valuable content on your website, why continue to share your blog posts all over the web and cookie your visitors with a pixel. Why?

Retargeting advertising is one of the best forms of advertising with a great ROI. The way it works is to place a small "cookie" or piece of javascript code onto the footer of your website. Once you have placed the cookie on your site, this allows visitors to be tracked. Once you have tracked your traffic you may now start an advertising campaign to target the visitors who have already visited your site. Why is this important?

People who have already heard of you (or in this case, visited your website) are more inclined to visit again and are far more likely to buy from you than someone who have never heard of you. Facebook retargeting advertising become a valuable resource to finding new customers or convert old browsers into paying clients. Win win!

Attract New Customers with High-Traffic Blogs:

You and I both know blogs are a hot commodity when growing a business. This would include blogs you have written and shared and blogs that you frequently visit for inspiration. Finding blogs that share your target audience is one of the best kept secrets to internet marketing.

With domain specific advertising, you are able to targeting blogs and high traffic websites and have your advertisements show up. Think of how many new customers you could attract from your advertisement being displayed on the Huffington Post, Refinery 29, and even Fitness Magazine! There are a zillion of website that display advertisements, there is absolutely no reason why one of those ads couldn't be yours.

Take a moment to hop on over to Bloglovin and write down 50 blogs (have have advertisements on them) that you believe your ideal customer is hanging out. Set-up an advertising campaign and target those specific websites. You'll have new customers and more traffic in no time!

Attract New Customers with Authority Sites:

Authority sites are a huge asset to any entrepreneur because authority sites provide instant information and expertise that is essential to any internet browser. Each day all of us spend time "Googling" questions and phrases into that tiny box hoping to find a solution to our problems. Turns out, your ideal customer is doing the exact same thing.

While your website may not come up on the first page of Google search results yet, that doesn't mean it never will or that it's the end of the road for you. In fact, most authority sites have advertisements on their website because their main source of revenue is affiliate marketing and to monetize their information with (you got it) advertising.

Having your advertisement show up on an authority site (which is really just a high traffic niche website) that fits your ideal customer profile is a win situation for attracting new customers. Start by making a list of all the authority sites you believe your ideal customers is browsing and target these sites in your advertising efforts. The best way to discover these sites is to hop on over to Google, type in the keywords search you believe your audience is typing and click on all the results on the first page results. Write down the url for each website that has advertising and you believe is an authority sites.

Remember, authority sites are the websites that provide value-- not just some gimmicky website that is trying to sell you something.

Attracting new customers is as easy as putting together an advertising campaign that targets the past visitors, Facebook folks, and internet browsers who are searching for solutions to their problems. If you need help setting up your advertising web-based and retargeting Facebook advertising campaigns, please looking into joining The Club.

HOW TO INCREASE SALES ONLINE FOR YOUR HOLISTIC BUSINESS

Let me rest you assured that growing your holistic business online is best way to make a difference. You and I both know you got into business to help serve those in need and today you woke up realizing you weren't helping as many people as you could. That is why the internet should be your new BFF.

You didn't graduate from college, get certified in everything under the son, read all those books, or go through all that trauma in your life just to make a little money. Having a holistic business means just that-- you should serve your ENTIRE niche market. And what better place to do that than the world wide web.

So what are the secrets to increase sales online that actually produce results? You and I both know there is no shortage of marketing strategies, but who is to say they all work. Well let me break down all the ways I know work when trying to increase sales online and why you should start implementing them today.

Increase Sales Online Strategy #1
Create an SEO-friendly Free Goodie

I know you've seen them on just about everyone's websites, but having a free goodie where you potential customers can opt-in (collect an email address) is essential to building trust. But it's not enough to just have something for FREE on your website for your audience, it actually needs a strategy behind it.

A free goodie should be titled with SEO. What is SEO? Search engine optimization is how Google will help you to attract new customers. How it works is withe keywords. You free goodie need to have keywords in the title and ideally, a landing page where your visitors can read all about how awesome it is, which entices them to opt-in.

If you don't know your keywords, it's going to be difficult to create a Free Goodie that is optimized for Google. Not to worry, this SEO course will help you figure out your keywords. Once you know your keywords, then you can start to create a free goodie. Just don't forget to mention at the end how you can continue to serve them. The free goodie might be free, but don't forget about making sales. After all, the purpose of the free goodie is to build the know, like, and trust factor, so they feel comfortable giving you their credit card information later.

Increase Sales Online Strategy #2
Engage New Prospects with Social Media

While social media  may not be the best way to generate new sales in your holistic business, it is the best way to keep them engaged. An engaged prospect is more likely to buy down the road than someone who is just finding out about you. I've have people on my list for years before they every became a client.

Preschedule social media posts with a platform like Hootsuite or Sprout Social so you aren't spending all day on social media engaging with your audience. Once you get into your rhythm you'll start noticing your fans hunting you down on other social platforms. Pay attention to these people; they are hot new leads to increasing sales online!

Increase Sales Online Strategy #3
Set-up an Advertising Campaign and Budget

Many holistic business owners skip over advertising because they don't know how it works or feel they don't have a big enough budget to do it. But this is absolutely not true! Setting up an advertising campaign could cost as little as $125 per month! I know you spend more on green juice each month than that.

Advertising is for the serious entrepreneur and if you are serious about increasing your sales online, online advertising is a must. It will help you to build brand awareness, acquire new prospects, and of course, increase sales. With just a small budget each month, you can easily grow your holistic business.

Simply, designate a budget to your advertising campaign and start running one today. If you need help setting up Facebook retargeting advertising or web-based ads to show up on authority sites, be sure to check out The Club. We offer affordable advertising campaigns to our Club Members and we manage them 100% too.

What is a Signature System and Does Your Business Need One

What is a Signature System?

What is a Signature System?

WHAT IS A SIGNATURE SYSTEM AND DOES YOUR BUSINESS NEED ONE

Article: Angel Quintana
Photo: Dasha & Mari

If you've never heard the term signature system before then listen up because it's the secret sauce to creating a niche in your holistic business. Most new business owners start out with an idea and immediately jump to creating a website where their business will hopefully generate traffic, and alas... income.

However, skipping steps when creating a business is a sure strategy to sending you back to the drawing board once the business doesn't take off as you hoped. A signature system can set your business up for success in many ways:

A Signature System Knows How to Solve an Urgent Problem

It isn't enough to have a product or service that simply solves a problem-- with all industries becoming more and more saturated, you must stand out, and not only that you not only need to solve a problem, it needs to be urgent.

Most people when spending time Googling their problem are trying to find solutions they can implement immediately. They have a burning desire to find the answer, which is why they went to Google in the first place. Even if they aren't necessarily looking to purchase something at that very instant, you'd be shocked to learn how many browsers accidentally found more than they hoped to find and became instant customers. That's because they got sucked into a "system" that solved their problem.

A Signature System Helps You Create Niche

Most entrepreneurs are out there like Dorothy with her little ruby slippers looking to find their way back home. Turns out it's all in the perception. If you stopped looking for a niche and instead, decided to create one out of the sky, you're that much more ahead of the rest.

For instance, a fitness instructor decides wrap up her expertise in an ebook to share with her customers she's discovered a system that slims down thighs in 30 days. She then goes to create the ebook and throw up a sales page to begin marketing her holistic business. But, what she didn't realize was she was one in a zillion other fitness instructors who wrote an ebook on slimming down thighs. Guess what? Back to the drawing board.

You see creating a niche can be extremely difficult until you understand what differentiates you from all the other businesses that sell something similar. When you know exactly what makes you different, creating a niche to serve your market is easy breezy.

A Signature System is Measurable

If you had an urgent problem, wouldn't you like to know how long it would take to fix the problem? With a signature system, you have figured out just how long that will take. It's part of the system.

If you knew that your product was a 6-week course that got you beautifully glowing skin, your ideal customer is going to be a lot less likely to ask for their money back after 2 weeks when her skin doesn't glow like the sun. Being measurable not only rests your customers mind, it also requires them to invest the time and dedication to solving the problem.

When it's measurable, it also makes writing copy for your website, landing or sales pages a lot easier. Imagine breaking down your system day by day, week by week, or even year by year to show your ideal customer exactly how it's done.

If you've been thinking about rebranding or starting a holistic business, starting with a signature system is going to take a lot of the heavy lifting and head scratching questions out of the scenario. This way you can better focus your time and energy on tackling each of the items on your to-do list in an efficient and effective manner.

If you think you have a signature system, but are not quite sure,  you merely need to ask yourself these questions:

  • Do you know your niche?
  • Do you know how to solve an urgent problem?
  • Do you know how to create a product or service to solve the urgent problem?
  • Do you know how to market your product or service?
  • Are you generating income on a regular basis?

If you have answered I don't no or a plain NO to any of these questions, it's a good chance your signature system has not been established. The success of your holistic business is dependent on your signature system and if you're not attracting new customers on a daily basis, it might be time to hit the pause button and find someone to help you discover your signature system.

How Soon Before You Have a Profitable Holistic Business

Profitable Holistic Business

Profitable Holistic Business

HOW SOON BEFORE YOU HAVE A PROFITABLE HOLISTIC BUSINESS

Article: Angel Quintana
Photo: Angel Quintana

Growing a holistic business online doesn't have to take long. Even if you are just starting out, attracting new customers or looking to sell more holistic products, the way to a profitable holistic business always starts with a marketing plan. No one gets into business and thinks, I hope to be profitable in the next 3 years. While that might end up being the case on some occasions, for the most part, a holistic business can be profitable as soon as the marketing plan has been established, revised, and remains consistent.

A marketing plan is a signature system where the end goal is to generate sales. The goal is to do something long enough to see if it produces results. So often, entrepreneurs start out doing one thing and if it doesn't produce a result in a week or a month, they stop doing it. However, this isn't entirely an accurate way to measure the results.

To measure the results of your marketing efforts, you need to look for progress and progress comes in many different forms. In some cases, perhaps your private community has grow by 20 people in a week or your mailing list grew by 5 people that day. Do you really know where those new people came from? The best advice I could give you is to measure your marketing efforts on a case by case basis or what is referred to as A/B Testing.

A/B Testing allows you to look at  your numbers (or analytics) through a new lens. Instead of deciding something in your marketing efforts isn't working and eliminating it, why not try out a couple scenarios to see if it produces new results before throwing in the towel. There are a couple examples to drill it home.

EXAMPLE #1:
Analyzing an Advertising Campaign

Say you started an advertising campaign and you let it run for 30 days and you didn't generate any new sales. To discontinue advertising would be premature because advertising does 1 of 3 things: it increases brand awareness, increases sales, or acquires new potential customers.

If you measure the results from brand awareness, that may have not generated any new sales, but it's getting your audience to know who you are or what your holistic business is all about.

If you measure the results from increased sales and realize it didn't produce any new sales, it could mean that the advertisements need to be redesigned or that your landing page or website are not doing it job correctly and should be revised.

If you measure new potential customers, this might mean you acquired a couple new email subscribers and perhaps none of them purchased from you, but did you have a follow-up system in place?

You see, with advertising as a marketing strategy to growing a profitable holistic business online, it takes time, revisions, and a follow-up system.

EXAMPLE #2:
Analyzing Your Mailing List

Let's say you introduced a couple new products in your e-commerce shop, but you didn't generate any new sales. Your marketing strategy was to send out a newsletter introducing the new products, but no one purchased. Instead of discontinuing sending out a newsletter, why not re-evaluate who is on your list and determine if they are the right people for your business instead. A lot of the people who join our mailing list are usually past customers (customers who have already purchased from you in the past), and the others are usually those who wanted a Free Goodie,  which is how they ended up on your list.

If you look closer, it could be that your Free Goodie on your website doesn't match what problem you solve, and that could result in some confusion. Testing out a new Free Goodie and checking your analytics next month might show you a powerful change in your customer base and hopefully some new sales!

In closing, a profitable brand has to do with TESTING. Testing is the easiest way to find out what is working and what is not, but most importantly as a business owner you must dive deeper to discover what the metrics are really trying to tell you. Was it really that advertising isn't working or was it something that was off on your marketing strategy. Take notes and make some minor adjustments, but never toss a marketing strategy out the window until it has been properly tested. To learn more about how to increase sales online join The Club.

Why a Luxury Business Model will Set Your Business Up for Success

Luxury Business Model

WHY A LUXURY BUSINESS MODEL WILL SET YOUR BUSINESS UP FOR SUCCESS

Article: Angel Quintana
Photo: Dasha & Mari

As the holistic industry grows, the more the market becomes saturated with fitness coaches, nutritional consultants, holistic health practitioners, sound healers, and yes, even holistic business coaches. To standout in a saturated market can appear to be difficult, but I assure you, it's easier than you think.

You and I both know, "The Universe delivers, every time no exceptions" but when it comes to marketing a holistic business, you need not pray or meditate to  have a profitable business. Instead, you must merely look at your business through a luxury business model. Let me show you how.

Step#1
Create a Signature System

Discovering your signature system is the most sacred piece of marketing you'll ever encounter in your business. So what is a Signature System anyway? Firstly, a signature system goes way beyond just how you will solve the problem. In fact, that is just the beginning. If you sell a skincare system to solve acne, your signature system might include all the steps to achieving beautiful skin, which might even include yoga, diet, and of courses, your products.

However, your signature system also has to do with your marketing system or action plan. It could be that your system requires blogging, advertising, sharing a weekly webisode, or hosting monthly tele-classes. The bottom line is you must have a signature system if you want to set you holistic business up for success from the get-go.

Step #2
Create a Stylish Brand

Sure, there is tons inexpensive platforms (or even free ones) to build out your website, you can even purchase a cheesy logo for $5 if you want on Fiverr.com. But that won't make your business stand out and it most definitely won't help you find higher quality customers. When you think of your business like a luxury business, you start expecting more from yourself and your ideal customers. This is when you business starts to change... for the better.

You see, the internet is saturated with TONS of information, products, and yes, even inexpensive products that claim to get the job done. Well, you didn't acquire all those certifications, classes, and years of experience overnight, and you probably invested a pretty penny to be the BEST at what you do. So why would you go chinzy on the branding?

Branding is the way to set your holistic business apart from the other kinds of businesses out there. Treat your business like a luxury business by investing in a good website designer, designer packaging, a beautiful logo, business card, and more.

Step#3
Find the Right Publicity

This is where I see a lot of entrepreneur go wrong. They think by gracing the pages (or cover) of any so-called-magazine that this gives them press. It might give you an ounce of publicity, but it doesn't mean it's good press. When someone asks you to guest blog on their site or co-host a webinar or even participate in a tele-summit, saying "yes" to these opportunities comes with a price-- and it's not a cheap price tag.

What I mean is while you can get FREE publicity by saying Yes to nearly every opportunities handed to you with the hopes of increasing your visibility and brand awareness, what you're really doing is compromising your brand by showing up on less-than-fab media platforms.

Even if a PR person contacts you to compliment you and butter you up by saying you're the next IT girl in your niche, don't let your head get in the clouds. Stay grounded. Remember, media people are great salesman, and unless it's a credible source (just take a look at their website), saying no to that opportunity will save you in the long wrong.

Finding the right publicity to promote your holistic business is essential to your success. Saying "yes" to everything and everyone shows a lack of brand integrity. Know what you stand for, develop your brand with a branding expert, and never forget that you got into business to make money-- when you are a luxury holistic business, you just wiped out your competition. It is then you become known in your niche and the right publicity shows up at your doorstep-- without the hefty price tag and without a cheesy website.
